Today I went to the Bush Presidential Library on the SMU campus. It is my 3rd visit and such a wonderful reminder of the goodness and generosity of the American people. The exhibits highlight Americans abilities to preserve in light of tragedy and to always have hope.
One doesn’t have to be in complete political alignment to enjoy the exhibit because while the exhibit displays and highlights George W Bush’s presidency, it serves a bigger purpose. It’s a reminder that we each have a responsibility to actively engage in supporting freedom. We can’t believe freedom is for some of us. Freedom is for all of us.
Now is a special time to visit. There is an Oscar de la Renta exhibit of beautiful clothing designed by him throughout the past 5 decades.
When history is available in our own backyard, we need to seize the opportunity to experience it.
